The Art of Henna Explained
Origin and History :
Henna, known as "Mehndi" in some cultures, is a form of body art that dates back over 5,000 years. It originates from ancient civilizations in North Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent. Traditionally, henna has been used for various celebrations, rituals, and rites of passage.
**The Henna Plant**:
Derived from the dried leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant, henna is turned into a fine powder, which is then mixed with water and other natural ingredients to create a paste. This paste, when applied to the skin, leaves a stain that can range from orange to a dark brown.
